２０１６年夏、２ヶ月の京都滞在中にアンティ・カレビの目に留まった街の風景や日常の美学。強い日差し、建築、幾何学的な影と、彼が見つけたさまざまなモノの構造。ビジュアルを構成する基本的要素である形態・構造・リズム・色彩を使って、この京都で体験した空間と視覚文化を直感的に抽象イメージとして表現しました。ギャラリー空間に作られたインスタレーションに一歩踏み入れるだけで、アンティ・カレビの描画の世界感を体験することができます。

今回の個展”Sun, Shapes, Shadows”では、フィンランド在住の若手イラストレーター・アーティスト、アンティ・カレビがジークレープリント作品集とインスタレーションを展示します。今回の展示会のために制作された作品は、展示会場でお買い求めいただけます。

During a two-month stay in Kyoto in the summer of 2016, I was struck by the different elements of the city landscape and everyday aesthetics: the intense sunlight, architecture, geometric shadows and compositions all around him. This experience of the space and visual culture was intuitively translated into abstract drawings that investigate the basic elements which images are made of: form, composition, rhythm and colour. A large site-specific installation enables the viewer to experience the situation themselves by stepping inside into one of Antti Kalevi’s drawings.

The exhibition ”Sun, Shapes, Shadows" presents a collection of selected giclée prints and an installation by the Finnish illustrator and artist Antti Kalevi. The works and small objects produced exclusively for this exhibition are also for sale in the gallery.

１９８７年　フィンランド・ラヒティ出身

アーティスト・イラストレーターとしてフィンランド・ヘルシンキを拠点に活動中。彼の作品はANTI Magazine、dpi Magazine、Printed Pages、SPUR Japanなどで紹介され、The New York Times、Finlandia Vodka、Kauniste、ELLE Italia、Universal Musicなどの企業をクライアントに海外へも活動の幅を広げている。ヨーロッパ、米国ではAgent Pekkaに所属。

Antti Kalevi
Born in Lahti, Finland in 1987.

Antti Kalevi is an artist and illustrator currently based in Helsinki, Finland. His works are featured in, among others, ANTI Magazine, dpi Magazine, Printed Pages and SPUR Japan. Antti’s long list of international clients include The New York Times, Finlandia Vodka, Kauniste, ELLE Italia and Universal Music. He is represented by Agent Pekka in Europe and the US.
