イラストレーターのMatti Pikkujämsäと、アーティストのJenni Ropeが2018年ヘルシンキのギャラリー「Lokal」で開催した「Blue Things」をケースギャラリーで開催いたします。ブルーで表現されたテキスタイルやプロダクトは必見です。  会期中はMattiによる似顔絵のエキシビションやどなたでもご参加頂けるオープニングレセプションも開催いたします。

Jenni and Matti became friends when they were studying at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki in 1999. Blue Things is their first joint exhibition, and it is inspired by shared interest in exploring the interface between arts and crafts and in experimenting new materials. 

The themes of the exhibition are friendship, the colour blue and the modulating form of square. Through experimenting new techniques they have found new ways to explore their own work and they have learned from each other. Placing two artistic approaches side by side has opened new perspectives into their work. 

Unique paintings and originals as well as special designs for small Finnish manufacturers are displayed at the exhibition. Mum’s, Lapuan Kankurit and Sarita Koivukoski Ceramics were selected to be the cooperative partners.


Profile:
Jenni Rope
1977年　フィンランド・ラハティ生まれ 絵画やモビール、パターンデザイン、絵本を手がけるフィンランドの女性作家。marimekkoやNanso、Vimma Companyといった企業にデザインを提供する他、近年は大型パブリック・アートの制作など、ヘルシンキを拠点に幅広く活躍。2017年9月には、絵本「Palle’s & Monko’s peculiar day」をフィンランドの出版社Etana Editionから出版。  www.jennirope.com


Matti Pikkujämsä
1976年　フィンランド・オウル生まれ 独自のポートレート・プロジェクトや絵本のイラストレーターとして知られ、OtavaやChildren's Center、Tammiといった出版社の絵本を多数手がける。また、SamujiやLapuan Kankurit、marimekkoにデザインを提供。心理療法士Antti Ervastiとのコラボで実現した最新プロジェクト「The Cup of Therapy」は、フィンランドだけでなく、日本のMuji Books「Dai Jo Bu」として出版。 www.mattipikkujamsa.com
